Flights Above Addiction in flight

As ready as we all are to put 2020 behind us, it's important to take a look back before we launch forward.

In the ten years since our founding, SafeLaunch programs connected us with our target audiences: young parents and children. Media $500 Contests challenged students to create media that illustrated the realities of substance use disorder to their peers, families and community. Santa Barbara Teen News Network put teens behind and in front of cameras in a professional television studio to highlight positive school and cultural events. Parent Education presentations brought subject matter experts in front of parents on the topics of brain development, parenting and substance abuse.

And, flights Above Addiction continues to provide a unique and effective way to connect with families across the country. From the children who find great joy painting a real airplane to the parents whose children are memorialized on the aircraft, Flights Above Addiction touches many hearts and carries a powerful message: the disease of addiction can strike any family but most often roots in the unprotected adolescent brain.

Now, we are excited to offer our SafeLaunch supporters an avenue for deeper participation, The SafeLaunch Parent Alliance. The Alliance is the advocacy arm of SafeLaunch. When you become a supporter, you become a part of the solution.

With the dramatic increase in substance use disorder we're seeing across the country due to the pandemic, it has never been more critical for us to come together to act against this issue.

Together, we educate, advocate and steer the course of the national dialogue. We will work to create the safest, best and brightest path to a healthier future, one free from substance use disorder.

Please join us.
