Sally Schindel is raising money to prevent youth substance use in memory of Andy

Remembering Andy

10/15/82 - 3/1/14

Andy was a ton of fun but also had a goal-oriented, hard-working side to him.

He was an 82nd Airborne paratrooper. Upon discharge from active duty he went to work on earning an Associate’s degree in business, intending to follow up with a Bachelor’s degree.

But his life began to crumble. Severe Cannabis Use Disorder had taken over his goals and dreams, his life. He lost his insight into his mental health and took his life by suicide.

Andy’s suicide note warns: “Marijuana killed my soul + ruined my brain.”
