Paso Robles Event: Kids can get close to a very special local airplane, and they can even paint it!

On Saturday, August 26, 2017 from 9am-4pm, SafeLaunch invites families to come out to the Paso Robles Airfest Fly In, find the all white Cessna named “DJ”, grab a paint brush and paint her up!

Retired Navy Commander Ron Cuff, a Paso Robles local and SafeLaunch co-founder, is the owner of “DJ”, a Cessna 182. He tells young plane painters that, “A great life is like a great flight– you have to train for it, pick a destination and stay mentally sharp”.

SafeLaunch will offer parents attending the Airfest some navigational tools to assist them in their mission of launching children safely into a healthy, addiction-free life. Co-founder Janet Rowse says, “The U.S. opiate epidemic is leaving no community untouched. Science tells us that the seeds of addiction are sown in adolescent exposure to drugs and alcohol, but the good news is that this is 100% preventable. The SafeLaunch Flights Above Addiction program offers parents an opportunity to learn about youth addiction risk and what they can do to give their children a better chance for a beautiful future.”

The SafeLaunch message is just as clear as the Paso Robles’ summer sky: the best way for youth to launch into a fun, healthy and productive life is to ensure that they keep their minds clear of drugs, make a life plan, and never go off course.
